The Wilkes County Heritage Museum chronicles the history of the county with displays highlighting the stories of legendary historical figures such as Daniel Boone and Tom Dooley. It is housed in the restored 1902 Wilkes County Courthouse. Along the self-guided tour are exhibits on early settlement of the area, military history, early stock car racing, moonshine production, and other key aspects of local history.
Open Tue. - Sat., 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.; Closed Sun. - Mon.
Adults $5; Students and Seniors 55+ $4; Children 4 and under are free.
